9-1-1 Person Alert
The Quincy/Adams County 9-1-1 Center has implemented a program to assist individuals with special needs, and their families, if they are in need of emergency services. This can include but is not limited to anyone on the autism spectrum, a person with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or any individual who cannot effectively communicate for themselves.
The purpose of this program is to assist those who may be unable to speak or identify themselves if encountered by emergency responders, or someone that may be scared or appear aggressive toward responders if they don’t understand what is happening in an emergency situation. It includes a form listing names and descriptions of those enrolled in the program, along with other information that may be helpful in identifying, calming or locating someone should they take off. It also contains emergency contact information and a current photo which can quickly be shared with Law Enforcement Officers on the street.
This program is completely free to anyone who has a loved one that they wish to enroll.
