Emergency Response Team
ERT was started in 1984 and is the department’s special weapons and tactics team. The team is composed of specially trained and equipped officers who handle critical incident calls such as high-risk search warrants and armed barricaded subjects. The team includes specialty positions such as sniper/observer and drone operator. ERT is constantly evolving and working toward the safest resolutions of high-risk events in the city of Quincy.
Crisis Negotiators Team
The Crisis Negotiators Team is a group of specially trained officers and mental health professionals that work towards the peaceful resolution of people in crisis. CNT has been a part of the Quincy Police Department for over 30 years. The team trains to handle hostage situations, barricaded subjects, suicidal subjects and other high-risk situations where a negotiator is needed.
